- You will need the following tool: Tri-wing triangle screwdriver.
- Remove the batteries from the device before you begin the process.
- Use the Tri-wing screwdriver to remove the screws on the back of the device. There are typically six screws in total.
- Once the screws have been removed, gently pry the two halves of the shell apart. Do not use excessive force, as this can cause damage to the internal components of the device.
- Carefully disconnect the connectors from the device's circuit board. There are typically two connectors on the Game Boy, one for the screen and one for the speaker.
- Carefully remove the circuit board from the shell.
- Insert the circuit board into the new shell, and re-connect the connectors. Make sure the connectors are securely attached.
- Put the two halves of the shell back together and tighten the screws.
- Insert the batteries and turn on the device to make sure it's working properly.
- Enjoy: You have successfully replaced the Game Boy housing shell, and your device should be working like new.
