Hall Effect analog sticks are designed for improved durability and precision, as they do not rely on physical contact points that wear down over time. Instead of traditional potentiometers, these sticks use magnetic sensing technology for input detection.

Inside each stick is a magnet, with a surrounding Hall Effect sensor. As the stick moves, the magnet shifts position, and the sensor detects changes in the magnetic field. These changes are then converted into electrical signals that represent movement along the X and Y axes.
